Environmental Sustainability Leader – SES
SES Engineering Services are recruiting for an Environmental Sustainability Leader to join our regional business, playing a key role in shaping and advancing sustainability across our local operations and supporting our strategic centre functions.
This is a unique opportunity to influence and accelerate SES's transition towards net zero, strengthen our environmental sustainability performance, and drive innovation across some of the UK's most technically complex MEP projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Environmental Sustainability Leaders are critical to embedding environmental sustainability across SES. This combined role supports both regional operations and strategic centre initiatives, ensuring successful delivery of regional SES sustainability targets.

As our Environmental Sustainability Leader, you will:
- Lead and embed SES's environmental sustainability strategy (ESIP) into planning, delivery and operational decision making across the region.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the centre sustainability team, helping drive sustainability accelerators, market aligned strategies, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyse project sustainability data, identifying local trends, risks, and regional opportunities to improve performance.
- Support the regional bid team with credible, high quality sustainability responses aligned to customer ambitions and SES strategic goals.
- Provide functional support to the SHEQ team by helping to identify environmental risks, contributing to compliance-related activities, and promoting safebydesign principles across projects.
- Drive engagement with regional project teams, customers, and supply chain partners to promote sustainability best practice and innovation.
- Facilitate regional training, upskilling and mentoring to build local sustainability capability and knowledge within teams, including leading a regional network of sustainability champions.
- Report on regional sustainability performance and escalate key issues to support organisational learning and corrective action.
- Locally manage or propose budgets that support the effective delivery of sustainability objectives.

ABOUT YOU
You will bring:
- Professional experience and strong understanding of environmental sustainability in the built environment, ideally within MEP.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, carbon strategies, circularity, resource efficiency and nature positive approaches.
- Ability to analyse and interpret environmental data to inform decisions.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience delivering training, facilitating workshops and driving behavioural change.
- A degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental science, engineering or a related field (IEMA membership desirable).
